Virgil is the true ancestor for the Simpsons. He is a black slave who successfully escaped to Canada with the help of both Mabel and Eliza. In MABF06 - The Colour Yellow Hiram had agreed to help him for donuts, but he later went back on his word for a pair of shoes. Mabel turned on Hiram and personally escorted Virgil to the Canadian border, where during the journey, they grew closer and later married after Mabel divorced Hiram, as he had no last name of his own, he took hers. They had two children together, one of which, their son, Abraham is the Great-Great-Great Grandfather to Bart, Lisa and Maggie.
