Fran is the latest line of Abe Simpson's unofficial improvement of Anglo-American relations during World War II. As such, she is part Simpson, and is Bart, Lisa and Maggie's 2nd Cousin, and is the same age as Maggie.
Despite living in a quiet village in Gloucestershire, Fran has a slight cockney accent, making her stand out from her classmates in that sense as she drops H's and pronounces words like "farmin'". She has a strong addiction to chocolate, which is balanced out thanks to her love of dancing, being a strong ballet dancer and able to move gracefully.
Fran was shocked when she found out that Maggie had an extensive range of firearms when she visited one year. This was mainly because her family only has a few shotguns to keep wild animals at bar from their own chicken hutch, and also for shooting matches. Even then, these are locked up for safe keeping, but she has had a go on her uncles service pistol, and also Maggie's vast collection, and found to be a decent shot with small calliber weapons, leading to Maggie keeping a specific rifle that fires pistol rounds for Fran alone.
Fran is very good natured, but is generally slow. She fails to understand some problems and can give the impression of not being all there. This is partly true, as whilst she does day dream easily in school, she is still collecting information. This can be thrown back at people when needed. She also has just enough self preservation to avoid being tricked or bribed with chocolate, and most other things, but even then has been known to stumble and fool for some tricks. She is generally an optimist and even when everything looks down, she can still find some hope.
