Plot
Mr. Burns throws an extravagant Fourth of July party for himself at his mansion and makes his employees run it. Homer, Lenny and Carl get bored and break into Mr. Burns's wine Cellar where they get drunk. They then break into his Art Gallery where Mr. Burns finds them and calls the police, they soon find The Concert by Vermeer in his gallery which was stolen in 1990.
Mr. Burns is arrested instead and is jeered at by the town, he leaves a reluctant Smithers in charge of the Power Plant. Smithers wanting to establish something with his workers is kind and accommodating to his employees but when he overhears Homer, Lenny and Carl making fun of him, he sees why Mr. Burns is the way he is and his behavior becomes something of a tyrant, worse so than Mr. Burns. Homer, Lenny and Carl agree to help him escape and they disguise themselves as prison guards to do so.
Meanwhile, Bart and Lisa are forced to play together when Marge does the shopping so they raise an ant farm which is reduced to a single ant after Santa's Little Helper eats all the others.
