Plot
Marge invites the Flanders', Lovejoy's, Hibbert's and Van Houten's for a dinner party. During the course of the evening, it becomes clear that Kirk and Luann Van Houten's marriage is in trouble. In front of the guests, Luann announces that she wants a divorce. Homer is confident that he and Marge wont break up, but Kirk tells him "One day your wife is cooking you your favorite meal, the next you're thawing a hot dog in gas station sink" When Homer arrives home he finds hot dogs thawing and realizes that he has taken his marriage for granted, he enlists Lisa's help, he smothers Marge too much and she gets fed up. Homer files for divorce, that evening, Homer surprises Marge with a second marriage. Reverend Lovejoy performs the ceremony. Inspired by Homer and Marge, Kirk proposes to Luann again who she swiftly refuses.
