Plot To get a sneak peak at his presents Bart drinks 12 glasses of water. The plan works, but when he does sneak a look, he accidentally burns the tree and presents, and then buries it in the snow, Bart then lies to his family. Springfield takes pity on the Simpsons and gives them $15,000 to spend on whatever they wish. They buy a car, which is swiftly destroyed. Bart does come clean eventually, and the whole town then learns the truth. The town is then shunned, and sent loads of hate mail. Marge goes on Jeopardy to win $15,000 but fails, when the town returns home, they find Springfieldians looting their house and the town forgives them.
