Plot
Bart destroys Lisa's sax in an argument. Lisa is upset and cant remember how she got it. Homer then tells them a story. (Tracy Ullman was entertaining America with songs, sketches and crudely drawn filler material, remind you of anything?)
Bart is starting to go to school but his attitudes are soon crushed by teachers and Groundskeeper Willie. Marge tries to enlist Homer's help to get Bart out of his sad-cycle. But nothing works, so they see the school Psychologist, Dr. J. Loren Prior. But instead of doing anything for Bart, he notices that Lisa is gifted, and gives them an idea to encourage her gift.
Springfield is also suffering from an unseasonable heat wave. And Marge tries to use the Air Conditioner account to encourage Lisa's gift. Homer refuses. In the end, Homer buys Lisa a sax. Now, there is enough money for a new sax, and rather than buy the air conditioner again, he buys Lisa a new sax.
