Plot
When Maggie hits Homer in the head a mallet Marge wonders where she got the idea. She soon finds out that its Itchy and Scratchy that are giving her the idea, Marge writes to the producers but doesn't get a decent reply, Marge starts a protest outside Itchy and Scratchy Studios and forbids Bart and Lisa from watching the show, both of whom go to Milhouse and Janey's to watch it. After Marge goes on Smartline, hosted by Kent Brockman, Marge tells the people of Springfield to tell the producers how they feel and the ratings plummet. The Producers and Roger Myers Jr. ask Marge to come up with acceptable story lines. The ratings hit rock bottom and the kids of Springfield have other things to do. Meanwhile as Michaelangelo's "David" is arriving in Springfield and the women of Springfield want Marge to lead a protest against it, though she likes it herself. Caught in a situation, she finds that she was wrong to support one form of free speech and against another, so Itchy and Scratchy returns to being violent, and David visits Springfield.
