While Homer manages to get detention by just being in the toilet and smoking. Marge holds a little protest of her own about the bra but gets detention. Homer and Marge meet for the first time, where Homer introduces himself, but is given an extra six days detention. Homer asks Marge if she can tutor him in French, she accepts, Homer picks it up quickly, he asks her if she will to go the prom with him and she says yes. Homer then spills the beans, that it was all an opportunity to get to know her better. Marge says she hates him and agrees to go to the prom with Artie Ziff. Homer goes to the prom alone, but later, as Artie tries to get romantic with Marge in the backseat of his car, Marge demands that Artie takes her home.
