Plot Homer and Bart learn that there is going to be a monster-truck rally down at Springfield Speedway, but Lisa's band recital is on the same night. Marge manages to come up with a compromise and they manage to see both. Mistakingly entering the arena, the Simpsons car is mauled by Truckasarus. Seeing the fearless Captain Lance Murdock perform a huge stunt that involved jumping over a tank of water filled with eels, sharks, pharanas and a lion, Bart wants to become a daredevil. Bart fails to jump over the Simpsons other car, and Dr. Hibbert gives him a lecture. However, Bart is still eager to do the jump and second time round, he pulls it off. With Lance Murdock's advice, Bart decides to perform the biggest jump of his life, to jump Springfield Gorge. Homer tries to plead with Bart not to do so. But the only way to persuade Bart not to, is to jump the gorge himself, knowing that he may die. Bart knowing that Homer wont make it, decides not to jump the gorge. Homer accidentally rolls backwards down the ramp and over the gorge, running out of momentum and falls straight into the gorge.
