Arrests
Over the course of the show, many characters have been arrested for some crime or another. Here is a list of all the people who have been arrested, either as they're being busted, or already in jail. If I seem to have missed something you are welcome to email me by using this form here.

Krusty the Clown
As Homer was at the Kwik-E-Mart he witnessed Krusty commit a robbery, Homer identified him and as Krusty was at home cooking some stove popcorn, his house was raided and he was arrested. Krusty protested that he bought the popcorn, not knowing anything what was going on.
7G12 - Krusty Gets Busted
Sideshow Bob
After Krusty was arrested, Sideshow Bob took over his show. Bart and Lisa investigated Krusty's innocence and tried to talk to Sideshow Bob. Live on TV, Bart found the final clue to prove Krusty's innocence, and that it was Sideshow Bob who framed Krusty. Sideshow Bob was quickly captured and Krusty was released with an apology from both Chief Wiggum and Homer.
7G12 - Krusty Gets Busted
Homer Simpson
On his last day to live, Homer had various activities planned but his father hogged up all his last moments so he had to make up for lost time, he was caught speeding by Lou and Eddie, Homer kept hurrying them to give him a ticket, but instead they'd rather haul his butt in. Homer was later released on bail from Barney.
7F11 - One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue fish
Bart Simpson, Fat Tony D'Amico, Legs and Louie
While working for Fat Tony's gang, Bart gets mixed up in a raid by Chief Wiggum for the murder of Principal Skinner. In court, Bart is named as the Don of the entire gang, as he is about to be sentenced, Principal Skinner comes in and saves Bart. Bart then quits the Mafia.

Steve Sax
As Steve Sax was just casually driving by Springfield thinking that it might be a nice place to live, he is pulled over by Lou and Eddie. Who is later arrested for his attitude. Smithers later says that he is looking at five consecutive life sentences for some reason.
8F13 - Homer at the Bat
Marge Simpson
While driving down the Springfield Highway, Marge has a nervous breakdown. She stops her car on the bridge blocking both sides, Homer manages to get her out of her car, and is arrested by Chief Wiggum. Mayor Quimby demands that she is released.
8F14 - Homer Alone
Snake Jailbird
While Bart is on a ride along with Lou and Eddie, Snake robs the Kwik-E-Mart and tries to make a quick getaway. Eddie calls for help from Chief Wiggum. While waiting for backup, Eddie notes that while it violates every rule in the book, he asks Bart for cover and hands him a gun. Snake charges at Bart with his car, which is forced to stop in an alley that got so narrow in the middle. Bart enjoyed it so much that he wants to be a olice officer, while Snake is arrested.

Groundskeeper Willie
As Principal Skinner was admiring the Puma of Springfield Elementary, outside, Lou and Eddie were taking Groundskeeper Willie away as Principal Skinner is baffled by the notion of Bart Simpson on the side of law and order.

Sideshow Bob
In attempt to murder Selma, Sideshow Bob creates a gas leak in their hotel room on their honeymoon. Bart, who was onto Sideshow Bob right from the start, solved the case that Bob was trying to kill her, and saved Selma. Chief Wiggum then quickly arrested Bob.
8F20 - Black Widower
Mr. Burns
As Lenny and Carl seal up a drum of Radioactive Waste, Burns and Smithers come along and take it to the park where they shove several drums into trees. One such tree held nine drums and had grown moveable tentacles and caused a squirrel living in the tree to gain laser vision. Burns is arrested by the EPA and forced to pay $3million.
9F10 - Marge vs. The Monorail
Homer Simpson
Homer and Barney visit the Duff Brewry and as they drive away, Homer is arrested by the police for drink driving. His license is revoked and he is ordered to visit two months worth of AA meetings. Marge asks him to give up beer for a month, which he does successfully.
9F14 - Duffless
Marge Simpson
When a flu epidemic breaks out in Springfield, Marge has to care for her family, in her haste, she accidentally forgets to pay for a bottle of Colonel Kwik-E-Mart's Kentucky Burbon. Marge is arrested and sentenced to 30 days in jail, Marge is later released when town riotted without her Marshmallow Squares.
9F20 - Marge in Chains
Sideshow Bob
Sideshow Bob again tries to effect The Simpsons, this time, directly killing Bart, as Bob is about to execute his plan, Bart flees and when trapped, Bart distracts Bob long enough to get to Springfield and have Chief Wiggum arrest him.
9F22 - Cape Feare
Maloy
When there are a series of burglaries in Springfield by the Cat Burgler, Homer sets up a Vigilante group with Barney, Moe, Skinner and Apu. Homer fails in preventing the robbery of the Worlds Largest Cubic Zarconia, but Grampa finds out and Maloy is arrested, he distracts the town by luring them to a tree shaped like a T and then escapes from jail.

Ned Flanders
When Flanders tries to escape from Homer, Flanders is caught speeding. Flanders states that he isnt pepped up on goofballs, but a church tour bus drives by, Flanders loses his balance and falls over. Chief Wiggum proclaims that he is high as a kite and pepped up on goofballs.

Sideshow Bob
In a third attempt to ruin The Simpsons's lives, Sideshow Bob gets released from Prison and then runs for Mayor. Once Mayor, he orders the destruction of 742 Evergreen Terrace to make way for the Matlock Expressway, he also sends Bart back to Kindergarten. Bart and Lisa then trick Bob into announcing that he rigged the Mayral election.
2F02 - Sideshow Bob Roberts
Waylon Smithers
Waking up the morning after Mr. Burns's shooting, Smithers finds a gun in his pocket that had recently been fired. Smithers concludes that in a drunken rage that he was the one who must have shot Mr. Burns, and turns himself in accidentally. Sideshow Mel then uses a clue that Smithers always watched Pardon My Zinger that it was impossible for Smithers to have shot Burns and as such is released.
2F20 - Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part Two)
Homer Simpson
Following clues given to him in a dream by Lisa, Chief Wiggum examines the suit Burns was wearing when he was shot, discovering an eyelash of Simpson Origin (Maggie), at the same time, Burns wakes up, only able to say two words, Homer Simpson, who the police believe to be the culprit. Chief Wiggum arrests Homer, who subsequently escapes and then rushes to Burns for a confrontation.
2F20 - Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part Two)
Snake Jailbird
After conning Homer out of $20, Snake runs off, with Marge giving chase. Snake suddenly turns on Marge, and as she states, she gains a surge of adrenaline and then hits Snake in the face with a Garbage Can lid.
2F21 - The Springfield Connection
Homer Simpson
While on duty, Marge finds a car parked in three handicap spaces, which turns out to be Homer's. Homer believes that he can get away with it because Marge is family, but no dice, Marge writes him a ticket, in a desperate attempt to get Marge to rip the ticket, he takes her hat and teases her. Marge then handcuffs Homer and arrests him. Chief Wiggum later releases Homer.

Hans Moleman
After Marge arrested Homer, it is discovered that for some reason, Hans Moleman had been given the Death Penaulty. He does question as to the legality of executing someone in a local jail.

Herman
During Homer's poker game, Herman agrees to get the Beer from Homer's Garage, which turned out to be a ruse to sell some Counterfeit Jeans. Homer finds out as is about to be shot when Marge arrives and arrests them. Herman tries to make an escape with Homer into Bart's treehouse but Marge knows of a secret entrance, Herman tries to make a getway but is foiled by his own merchandise.

Principal Skinner
In Bart's fantasy, Principal Skinner is being arrested for apparently burning down the school, though he protests that he didnt and the police call him crazy and to get the tazer. Actually, it was Bart reincarnated as a butterfly holding a gas can.
2F32 - 'Round Springfield
Sideshow Bob
Sideshow Bob manages to escape from being driven back to the prison, where he steals a nuclear weapon, and threatens Springfield to shut down all television studios. Bart and Lisa then discover where he is and confront him. Sideshow Bob escapes with Bart in the Wright Brothers plane in a failed Kamikaze attempt to kill Krusty, Bob is arrested again.
3F08 - Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming
Krusty the Clown
When Krusty stamps a cheque from Bart, he demands that Krusty signs it properly, it is discovered that Krusty had been evading his income taxes and was arrested by the IRS. All of Krusty's possestions were sold off and in the end Krusty couldn't cope and faked his suicide. Bart and Lisa then disvover that he has been living under the alias Rory B. Bellows, they convince Krusty to return to Springfield.
3F12 - Bart the Fink
Homer and Lisa Simpson
When Lisa is given the task of writing a report on Jebediah Springfield, she discovers that he was really a pirate. Homer believes Lisa and helpers her spread the word. Homer and Lisa are then arrested by the police and taken to the parade commitee, who in turn dig up Jebediah's remains. As it turned out, Lisa was right, but Hollis Hurlbutt hid the only vital bit of evidence with Lisa eventually found.

Jimmy the Scumbag
When Homer was leaving the Kwik-E-Mart, he found the police arresting Jimmy the Scumbag for running a Telemarketing Scam.
4F01 - Lisa's Date with Density
Bart Simpson
When Bart returns to Homer's football team Chief Wiggum shows up with an arrest warrant for Nelson, who happens to be Homer's star player. Bart agrees to fill in for Nelson in the arrest, which turns out to be for robbery and arson, sending Bart away for a long time.
5F03 - Bart Star
Homer Simpson
Homer, along with many other criminals are lured to the police station with a police raffle for a motorboat. Homer is arrested and forced to pay $137 in unpaid parking tickets.
5F05 - Lisa the Skeptic
Lisa Simpson
Lisa, annoyed by the towns constant refusal to believe the truth that angels dont exist, she grabs one of Bart's crowbars with intention to destroy the skeleton she found. They later discover that has been stolen, but Ned Flanders, Reverend Lovejoy and Mayor Quimby show up to take it away from Lisa, they discover it's gone and acuse Lisa of distroying it. Chief Wiggum arrests Lisa. Lisa is later found not guilty as the angel is found on a hill.
5F05 - Lisa the Skeptic
Homer Simpson
In order to get Moe some money, Homer agrees to help by stealing his car and wrecking it on the rail road tracks. But fails, instead he attempts to dump it in the sea where he gets caught and Homer is arrested. Moe agreeing to bail Homer out instead spends the money on a trip to Hawaii for himself and Renee. Homer vows revenge and escapes with intention to kill Moe.
5F12 - Dummbell Idenmity
Fat Tony D'Amico
Mayor Quimby agrees to give Fat Tony the right to distribute the milk to the schools in Springfield, promised to be Dog or higher, but Homer discovers that it happens to be Rats milk. Homer forces Mayor Quimby to get the Rats Milk out of the schools (and even forbids Bart and Lisa from drinking it) Fat Tony is arrested by Chief Wiggum, and vows revenge against Mayor Quimby.

Springfield Kids
Bart Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Milhouse Van Houten, Nelson Muntz, Martin Prince, Janey Powell, Allison Taylor, Wendell, Sherri, Terri, and Lewis
When Homer trashes the school when drunk, the kids get blamed are placed on a curfew by the police. Bart and Lisa watch a commercial for a movie called "The Bloodening" Bart calls a load of kids and they all go to the movie after dark, breaking curfew. They are eventually caught. They get their revenge by using the radio to tell their secrets much like in the movie.

Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson, Ned Flanders, Moe Syzlak, Barney Gumble, Lenny Leonard, Carl Carlson, Comic Book Guy, Kirk Van Houten, Krusty the Clown, Sideshow Melvin Van Horne, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Reverend Timothy Lovejoy, Dr. Julius Hibbert, Dr. Nick Riviera, Chief Clancy Wiggum, Jasper Beardley, Captain McCallister, The Blue Haired Lawyer, Squeaky Voiced Teen, Bumblebee Man, Wally Kogen, and Charlie
When going to the Superbowl, the group discovers that the tickets are fake. Homer then tries to knock out some guards so they can run and as a result they are arrested and thrown in Superbowl Jail. They are then busted out by Dolly Parton.

In Tokyo, Homer and Bart visit a Sumo Wrestling match where the Sumo take Homer's pretzel. Homer tries to fight him, but is pinned down quickly, Homer tags Bart who hits the Sumo with a chair. Homer claims victory as the Emperor tries to congratulate him, Homer throws him into a dumpter of Sumo thongs. Marge pays their bail though, Homer could easily have escaped by smashing through the screens.
AABF20 - Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo
The French Assassin
In an attempt to kill Homer, a French Resturant owner makes a special Eclair. Lisa manages to save Homer's life by provoking him to throw the Eclair away. The Assassin is caught by police but quickly manages to uncuff himself.
AABF21 - Guess Who's Coming to Criticise Dinner
Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson
While trying to show some college students the meaning of Partying, Homer gathers his family and accidentally kills Captain Jack, the town mascot. The family are then arrested by the Southern Sherif. The Simpsons escape while he is getting some baby sized handcuffs for Maggie. They are eventually found at a nearby diner, and sent to jail. It later turns out that Captain Jack was just knocked out, rather than dead.
BABF16 - Kill the Alligator and Run
Marge Simpson
After a meeting with Patty and Selma, Marge believes that Becky is trying to kill her she goes to the Police to get her arrested, but they wont help her. Later, Becky announces that she's moving out, and as Homer gorges on an Ice Cream Barge, Becky trys to recusitate him. Marge thinks she's trying to take Homer. Marge attacks her and is arrested, and is declared insane.
BABF18 - It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Marge
Jesse Grass
Because of their protests, and disrupting public order, Jesse Grass and his group Dirt First are regularly arrested and thrown in jail. After meeting him Lisa visits him in jail, she joins the group. After Lisa's presumed death, the forest she was in at the time is declared a National Park, but is instead made into an Amusement Park. Jesse Grass cuts down the wires holding up the main sign and is thrown in jail again.

Homer and Bart Simpson
When Homer and Bart start grifting, Lisa becomes suspicious, she gets Grampa to help in teaching the two a lesson. Grampa pretends to team up with the two to trick them into grifting the Old Folks. While there, Devon Bradley poses as a police officer who leads them to the police station, then while they are out of the way, he takes their car. This arrest is obviously, totally fake.
CABF03 - The Great Money Caper
Groundskeeper Willie MacDougal
Keeping with the farce of trying to teach a lesson to Homer and Bart, Chief Wiggum arrests someone that happens to match their description which happens to be Groundskeeper Willie. He is placed on trial, and after a series of misunderstandings and shootings, Homer reveals the truth. It turns out that Willie was not in on the act.

Jack Crowly
After arguing with Principal Skinner about the school mural, Jack paints a new one and it gets hated, as such, Jack sets it on fire. Marge finds Jack and tries to cover for his escape, but instead sets Skinner's car on fire, and is thus arrested.
CABF05 - Pokey Mom
Lt. L. T. Smash
L. T. Smash finds from Admiral that the Party Posse is to be shut down, because of an article in MAD. L. T. then takes the Aircraft Carrier that the latest concert is on to New York, where he fires a missile at the MAD Building, and subsequently arrested.
CABF12 - New Kids on the Blecch
Bart Simpson and Milhouse Van Houten
On their way to school, Bart and Milhouse observe Chief Wiggum's Police Cruser parked outside a donut shop. They go inside to take a look, and accidentally set it into gear, Wiggum arrests them and they are both put on trial, Milhouse is let off by Judge Snyder, but Bart isn't so lucky punished to be teathered to Homer by Judge Constance Harm when Judge Snyder left to take his vacasion.
CABF22 - The Parent Rap
Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson
During the Monopoly game, Lisa accuses Bart of cheating, Marge defends Bart, who Lisa retorts that it's because he bought her a property in the game, Bart comments that he couldn't trust Homer. Homer strangles him. Marge and Lisa try to pry them apart, while Maggie calls the police. When Chief Wiggum arrives all five are fighting, thus calling in the Nagotiabot, and the family is arrested, a Social Worker is assigned to help them.
DABF01 - Brawl in the Family
Chief Wiggum
After Mrs. Bellamy is murdered, Chief Wiggum questions Homer and Marge. While doing so, he trys to get them to admit it by yelling in their faces. Homer counters the move by doing the same at Chief Wiggum. Homer tells Lou to arrest Chief Wiggum when he admits that doing such tactics dont work.
DABF16 - The Frying Game
Homer and Marge Simpson
During a Police Raid of the Simpson house, Mrs. Bellamy's necklace is found in Maggie's room. The pair are arrested, and after a trial, are sentenced to death. Bart, Lisa and Maggie are placed in foster care of Cletus and Brandene. When Homer finds out how upset Marge is about not being around for various parts of the kids's lives, he confesses everything, and Marge is released. As Homer is about to be executed, it turns out that everything was a reality TV Show.
DABF16 - The Frying Game
Fat Tony D'Amico
After Homer takes over as Chief of Police, Fat Tony starts to sell Farrets as Poodles. One happens to be wearing a wire and he is arrested by Springshield. He is soon released, and threatens to kill Homer if he doesn't leave town. Homer refuses, and the gang come to his house. Just as they are about to shoot him, they are shot instead by a mystery sniper, who later is revealed to be Maggie.
DABF17 - Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge
Springfield Drug Smugglers
Homer and Grampa Simpson, Ned Flanders and Apu Nahasapeemapetilon
When Mr. Burns cancels the plants drug plan, not many Springfielders can afford drugs, so Homer and Grampa start smuggling drugs from Canada. Flanders and Apu go along on one of the runs, where Flanders gives Apu coffee that's too hot. It is believed by the Canadians that he is a religious extremeist. But the group are arrested on different grounds.
FABF16 - Midnight RX
Kirk Van Houten
Bart fakes being kidnapped to avoid being punished. Milhouse suggests that he hides out at his dad's appartment. When the Police track Bart down, Kirk is arrested, and it actually turns out to be beneficial to Kirk who wants to stay in prison.

Bart Simpson
Lisa fed up with Bart's attitude towards her she takes out a restraining order against him. Bart tries to fight his sister, and is swiftly arrested by Chief Wiggum.

Lou was arrested because Chief Wiggum's coffee was returned cold. Lou just misheard what Wiggum said.

To get his prison raising money, Mr. Burns has Chief Wiggum implement some stupid laws from forgotten times. One of these includes kicking a can five times would be illegal. Homer does just that and is arrested and thrown into Mr. Burns's prison. He figures that his only way to survives would be to become a snitch.
GABF08 - The Seven Beer Snitch
Marge Simpson
During her Yard Sale, Marge sells off most of Homer's Pain Medication and becomes popular enough that Jimbo thinks she's a supplier. She fobs Jimbo off but Chief Wiggum shows up who Marge thinks is Jimbo announces about how much money she made at the Yard Sale, as a result Marge is arrested, she calls home hoping that Homer would get the message, needing $10,000 bail.
HABF04 - We're on the Road to D'ohwere
Lisa Simpson
Reverend Lovejoy and Ned Flanders pressure Principal Skinner and The state to force teaching on Creationism. Lisa protests by hosting a reading of "The Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin. She is later arrested for teaching non-biblical science and placed on trial. Marge comes to Lisa's rescue when she uses a beer bottle to portray Homer as the missing link between apes and man.
HABF14 - The Monkey Suit
Homer Simpson
In Marge's "Count of Monte Cristo" story, Moe forms a plan to take everything away from Homer, his first step is to frame Homer on the count of treason, he is so, and thrown in prison for life, Marge then later remarries to Moe.
JABF05 - Revenge is a Dish Best Served Three Times
Homer and Grampa Simpson
When Homer, Grampa and Moe discover that Smoking in bars is banned in Ireland, they set up their recently purchased bar up as a smokeasy to allow people to smoke and drink and generate revenues. But sadly, they're caught.
JABF11 - In the Name of the Grandfather
Charles Montgomery Burns
During Mr. Burns's 4th July party, Homer, Lenny and Carl sneak into his Wine Cellar and trash his mansion so Burns calls the police, but in a turn of events it turns out that he has some very priceless, and stolen paintings, so as a result Burns is arrested instead.
MABF08 - American History X-Cellent
Homer Simpson
Homer tries to walk into the bank with a Candy Apple, but it looks like he has a gun and everything then on is blown out of proportion.
MABF09 - Chief of Hearts
Sideshow Bob
Sideshow Bob manages to escape prison by stealing the face of Walt Warren, and attempts to kill Bart again at Five Corners. Bart was always convinced that Bob was really Walt, thus he had the police track him. After a struggle between Bob and the real Walt and stalling for time on Bart's part, Bob was arrested.
MABF11 - The Bob Next Door
Homer Simpson
Homer tries to bribe his way out of paying for various other offenses he commited earlier in the day and is sentenced to 10 years in prison, but becomes an FBI informant to get out of it.
MABF19 - Donnie Fatso
Bart Simpson
Homer and Bart dare each other to do some rather stupid things. Homer's ultimate dare is for Bart to skateboard to Krusty Burger and back, naked. Bart accepts the challenge and skateboards to Krusty Burger, where he is caught by the police and then handcuffed to a lamppost. Homer eventually comes to get him, but forgets his shorts, Homer also places all the blame onto Bart which annoys him.
The Simpsons Movie
Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie Simpson
After discovering that the EPA is going to destroy Springfield, Marge wants to return to stop them, but Homer does not. Marge as a result, leaves Homer in Alaska. Marge takes Bart, Lisa and Maggie to Seattle to announce the plot to destroy Springfield, but are being monitored on the train and are then captured by Russ Cargill and sent back to Springfield. Homer makes a vein attempt to save them by distracting the drivers and knocking the EPA van carrying them over.
