Plot When Lisa and Mayor Quimby discover that the entire town has failed to pay a large number of taxes, Mayor Quimby orders that everyone pays up, everyone does, except one person, Lurleen Lumpkin (voiced by Beverly D'Angelo). Lurleen seeks amnesty with the Simpsons, but Marge sends her back to the dump, but seeing how Lurleen lives her life as turned out, Marge agrees to allow Lurleen to live at the Simpsons house. Lurleen gets a job at Moe's, Marge asks what would make Lurleen hate men when turns down both Lenny and Carl, Homer and Marge over hear her singing a song about her deadbeat dad. Marge seeks out to find Lurleen's dad and brings him back to the Simpson household. Over the few days, Lurleen and her father, Royce reconcile, but he leaves again, selling one of Lurleen's songs to the Dixie Chicks (voiced by themselves). Colonel Homer and Major Marge teach Lurleen that there's only one person in the world who can tell her what to do, and that's herself. The following day, Lurleen challenges Royce and tells the Dixie Chicks that he stole Lurleen's song. They turn on him and hire Lurleen to write their songs.
